What Aurora stores to send accountless aurora alerts and keep manage controls working.

Data Aurora Uses

Aurora stores the email address, saved place or coordinates, place label, time zone, sensitivity, pause/status state, and alert history needed to provide notifications and accountless management links.

Alert records can include NOAA forecast value, threshold, forecast time, send or skip reason, freshness, and delivery state. Raw manage, unsubscribe, export, and delete tokens are not stored.

Forecast Limits

Aurora uses NOAA OVATION forecast data to decide when conditions may be worth checking. It cannot guarantee visible northern lights because clouds, daylight, moonlight, local horizon, and forecast uncertainty still matter.

Controls

Manage links can update sensitivity, pause alerts, delete a saved place, request an export, or request deletion. Unsubscribe links stop the authorized alert scope.

Aurora may retain suppression and minimal audit records after unsubscribe or delete requests to prevent future sends, handle complaints or bounces, and protect against abuse.

Aurora does not sell subscriber-level email, location, forecast, alert, or delivery data.

Providers And Contact

Aurora uses NOAA as the forecast source and the configured email provider to deliver messages. Operator diagnostics show whether the app is using fake/test or live email mode.

Support is handled through the manage-link, export, and delete request flows until a dedicated public support address or form is configured.
